How many people own motorcycles in New Zealand?

years ago there was a sticker widespread before voting time reading something like
200000 new zealanders have gun licenses, and vote.
Maybe it's time to get some similar reminding people and politicians how many motorcyclists ride bike sin our country.
On that note, how many do and where would one find the statistics?

They didn't listen to us gun owners so what makes you think they will listen to bike owners?

It would be much simpler and easier to get info to say there are X number of motorbike riders in NZ via number of licence class holders.
On the bumper sticker you could add, they typically own X amount of other vehicles, pay X times over for ACC levies but can only crash one at a time...

The AA or LTSA ? They put out records of new bike sales so it can be hard to do a list of all in the system

Not enough for them to give a shit. Unless you start the MORONZ Party. Motorcycle Owners/Riders Over New Zealand Party

If you get enough votes to have a seat then they will take notice. Given how many of us have died this year unfortunately they are already taking notice - not in a good way

maybe, but after all the hullaballoo last time the rego went up nothing was followed through at election time, just saying.

Isn't it something like 40,000 bikers and 60,000 bikes? Probably includes farm bikes though

Actually only about half of the eligible population actually votes so maybe something better would be 40000 motorbikers are pissed off and we know where you live
