Arrow Date Started for threads!!!! Please

I have just read a New!! Post again and overlooked the date of the first post. It was a good thread but quite out of date. I am assuming that this happens to others as they post in it which makes it come up under New Posts!!

Would it be possible to put a Date Started Date under the details of the Thread as is done under the last post???

Any comments on agree or disagree?

    Have a fanTAZtic day all

    Taz

A big Thank you to Marty at typeface for sponsoring me to have a go in my first race

Thanks to Steven at kittyosheas for building the computer program we're using at the sprints and the Hill Climb.

I don't think that is necessary. Note that it is New Posts not New Thread
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

you can still post in old threads. Saves covering an old topic again.. and as long as it's relevant stuff, it's better to post in an existing thread, than start new.
and the new posts link, is to show what threads have new posts in them, not the new posts by themselves!

    Cool

or when you start a new thread off then put a date on the main title..

Thats what I tend to do on most cases...

One place where it would be handy is in New Member speak. Every so often someone posts to an old thread in there and I think it's another new member and give them some welcoming bling - then realise they've been around for ages.

I agree with Tazman. While 'new posts' is not 'new threads' it would still be very useful to see how old a thread is, esp if an old thread would be irrelevant (date wise) like 'Who wants to ride up the Takas today?'. This is assuming of course that its an easy mod.
    Thanks!

Good point. I think it sounds like a good idea if it isn't hard to do. Can save some confusion.

Dave, I just want to say......you're right. It says near the top left of each thread you click on "View First Unread" and it gives the time and date. Has it always said that but?

I always hit 'New Posts' then go though them all to find the interesting titles... Wish *sometimes* that I could see before opening the thread what date it was started on...

I'm thinking maybe display the date next to the thread starters name.

Thanks yes I can but sometimes clicking on a thread that is in New Post!!! I don't and just start reading. It has it under the last postie so why not when it was started??? Also as Skunk said!!!

I see dates on the top right hand corner of the message when I open the thread.

    Does that help?

I see them in the top left corner
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

You're missing the point - you've opened the thread to see that.
Taz is looking for something BEFORE opening the thread.

Besides - if you search then get the new posts in an existing thread you DON'T see the date the thread started...

It's just an extra something to assist some members in the way they use the forum. Not everyone has a wizz-bang computer on a T1 line.
