Casino's have all sorts of rules and regulations. Mainly to stop cheating or the potential to cheat.Originally Posted by Ixion
I am not sure of the legaility to order the handing over of a helmut. If you have already purchased a ticket to the movies then a 'contract' has been completed. If the helmut in any way interfers with other patrons enjoyment of the movie then management may ask to look after it for you or give you the option to leave. There may well be safety issues with helumts but that could also be argued with bags etc.

I'm not too sure either about handing over of safety equipment, and also am not sure why I've got two different stories from the same staff, but a few weeks ago everything was fine.Originally Posted by Skyryder
*Shrugs* guess I'll file a formal complaint on monday and try and get the story straightened.
am unaware of any fire reg which would cover confiscating helmets, did he quote a specific regulation ?Originally Posted by thehollowmen

Motorbike Camping for the win!
I think its just a power thing. Someone was having a crap day and thought up a stupid idea like this as a result. I go to the movies once in a blue moon with the lads and we allways have our helmets with us. Never once have I been asked for it. If I did I would decline and should they insist, I might advised them where I'd tend to shove it if they actually tried to enforce their petty rule. One thing I do as a nurse is when someone comes up with a bright/lame idea(s) is to ask for the rational behind the idea. If they cannot come up with logic and a good dose of common sense, then I rubbish the idea and ignore it. They might not like it, but they have no legal justification to enforce their ideas/rules at times...Originally Posted by Wolf
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
I wouldn't hand over my helmet to anybody. It's not a weapon or an offensive item. I would have demanded more reasoning from the manager.
As far as I'm concerned, It's classed as an expensive hat. Not a flamethrower or firestarting or even fire enhancing device.
I wonder if the confiscator just took a personal disliking to you?
I would have even taken down his/her name and informed the person that you will be looking into your personnal rights and that you would lay discrimination charges if theres a hint of bullshit going on.
That'll keep their shit sorted!
However, If asked kindly to remove your helmet, never an issue! Confiscate, thats quite personnal.
No, he said he'd get back to me on that.Originally Posted by Firefight
I don't think it was a bad day thing, because when standing at the counter waiting for the manager yesterday when I came back, another one of the ticket sales people tried to take my helmet again.
Dafe - if they get too rowdy they can do the whole tresspass thing or deny you entry. Granted, I'd kick up a shitstorm later.
Surely they are just trying to prevent other patrons tripping or falling over them? If you left it sitting next to your chair or in the aisle next to you, it could easily be tripped over in the dark.
Next time you go to the cinema, take your helmet bag with you and put it in that before handing it over.
