    Angry Petrol Prices/Consumer revolt

It has been calculated that if everyone in New Zealand did not purchase a drop of petrol for one day at all the same time the oil companies could possibly choke on their stockpiles.

At the same time it would hit the entire industry with a net loss at the current prices of $1.50 per litre (30 litres for a full tank) $45.00 x a conservative estimate of 2,000,000 vehicles in NZ that would equate to $90 million dollar loss (one day) to the oil companies and hit their profit margins.

Therefore September 5th has been informally declared "Stick it up their butts day".

Motorists of New Zealand should not buy a single drop for that day!

The only way this can be done if your forward this e-mail to as many people as you can to get the word out.

Waiting on this Government to step in and control prices is not going to happen and there is an Election coming so why not throw them into a panic.

BOTH PARTIES HAVE REFUSED TO REMOVE THE EXTRA 5 CENT SURCHARGE ON PETROL INTRODUCED ON 1st APRIL 2005.

Remember one thing about raising gas prices:

Airlines are forced to raise their prices
Trucking companies forced to raise their prices
These prices affect the cost of shipping
Flow on effect that your GROCERY BILL goes up
Flow on effect on clothing, building, medical supplies!
It effects all of us in every area while companies can write off these expenses, consumers cannot.
    Who pays in the end?

    WE DO - The consumer!

We can make a difference if they don't get the message after one day we will do it again and again.

Enough of these ridiculous excuses that the oil companies use to justify their increases everything from President Bush missing a golf stroke on the 9th hole to Aunt Fanny's artificial leg falling off.

If you are sick of this manipulation vote with your bike/car and do not buy a drop. Spread the word and mark the date on your calendars.

This is the 3rd post of this mate
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

other thing is people will just buy on sunday or tuesday.

Guy on the radio had the right idea. Gas stations make a killing on other crap they sell (magazines, coke, choc bars etc) so if you want to make a difference, only EVER buy petrol from a gas station.
The real mystery is how come that fat bastard Hurley has never lost any weight.

unless EVERYONE makes a HUGE.. like MASSIVE personal sacrifice and not do it for like a week or a month... then it would make a dent. But how will you get around for that length of time without filling up?

At school we did 'wildcat' strikes when the teachers were protesting about NCEA, yes their were hundreds of us going around overpowering the few teachers at school... (say 100 staff vs 1200 students... do the maths) and we just did what we wanted for like 2hours, soon the fun wore off and we went back to class.

Im sure the novelty of such a revolt as not buying petrol would soon be too much of a hassle for many people.

The sad thing is that while we sit here bitching about the price a fair few wealthy cunts that head the oil co's are living it up large and not giving a shit. All we can do is keep paying until we cant pay anymore...

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

You guys do realise that the market controls the price of oil (those angry guys you see on TV fighting and waving bits of paper).

The oil companies buy and sell when it best suits them, but who can blame them for that?
