    Cody Cooper

THSRT - Watch Cooper come from last place to clinch the 2014 New Zealand

Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Hey Scott how old is Cody he must must be the same age as Ben or close to it. Just me but BT would be still faster would he not, and If he was still racing in Oz he would still be the rider to beat. or im i way of the mark. Just seems odd him being a team manager and not a rider.
I guess it was his choice to hang up the helmet.

Cody is a nearly a year older than Ben (Cody 30, Ben 29)

a fit and healthy BT would be cleaning up in Aussie IMO, and would have been top 5 of not better if he had got to take up the two two ride in 2012, but he could not stay healthy, and after that many crashes, and major ones as well, he called it a day, i know as a friend it hurt like hell to see him in hospital, and with a family already he has to do something for the rest of his life,

Yeah I was gutted for BT when he retired, but completely understood why. If luck had shined on him, there's every possibility we'd have been watching him cleaning up the 450s in the AMA SX, not RV... but he's had so many set-backs, big crashes that hit him hard mentally as well as physically, building up to peak fitness and showing real promise again to then have to watch it dissappear as he recovers from yet another freak injury, yet another shot at the top level go up in smoke.

He knew when to say enough, so instead I just wish him well in the next phase of his MX career.

    BT will be back.

Great to see Cody kicking ass still. I've still got one of his helmets collecting dust at home. It was one of the ones he wore when he first raced back in the States.

Bt will race in NZ for fun, but i doubt you will see him racing in Aussie or anywhere further seriously

There's apparently been a couple of the top enduro guys suggesting he move to their discipline, as he is the right age, has the right background and is fast enough, but I don't see him doing any more than you've said.

not sure how much cash is in it until you win world titles, and he does not enjoy the really tight stuff that the enduro boys do, and with 2 kids, and a 3rd on the way the travel schedule would be tough,

Yep, especially if there was any suggestion of moving to Europe to take on the guys over there. He's said he loves riding and can't ever see himself hanging up the helmet for good, but he's no longer in a place for that level of commitment.
