I've tried eBike, but found their website completely unusable, going around in circles when I try to make sense of the Monthly option.

I've since heard that BikeSure might work, if the owner is insured by them and the extra rider is included as a named rider. I've tried the direct approach through their website, which is actually very easy to use, but it came back with a requirement to phone them for a quote.

    I'll make further enquiries.

    Sorted...

...but not with a normal insurance company. After approaching about 20 companies and brokers in NZ, Oz, UK, and elsewhere, it becomes plain that the problem is insurmountable. However, in my particular case, I'm in the fortunate position where a mate with a considerable portfolio of insurance policies was able to persuade his broker to add me to his business insurance.

Great for me, but no help to anyone else in the same situation.

    Motofierme

There's a bloke in Ireland, calls himself Motofierme, runs a business along the lines of " I buy a bike for you here ,a nd get it all sorted so all you have to do is ride off into the sunset". He also organises stuff for people bringing their own bikes to UK, and getting servicing done etc. Maybe try him out, he's in with the Horizons Unlimited people....
    lucky bastard
