three of us are coming from wellington and meeting another up there.
sand country ride the weekend before as a warm up, should be good couple of rides.
it's not gonna snow, rain or just generally be fucking cold is it? nah...
It is in the shadow of ruapehu so it's not going to be warm haha, I live in kapiti so would be keen to tag along to the other ride you mentioned. Only been here for a few months, so would be good to meet some people who ride.
havent been for a couple of years, might see about going this year
SHE LOOKED UP AT ME WITH BLOOD IN HER EYES
THEN HER SKIN FELL OFF
AND SHE PROMPTLY DIED
IT WAS EBOLA, LA LA LA EBOLA
they keep changing it from a summer ride to a winter ride every couple of years. last couple i've been on have been in summer, the last winter one i remember we had to break off icicles when we came out in the morning.
cool, sand country is a nice easy ride that gets ~800 riders. will pm you or something nearer the ride.
cheers.
Couple of guys have pulled out of ride so anyone looking for a bed Fri/Sat nights send a PM
Total for weekend is $300 so looking for 2 more @ $75 a head. In Ohakune.

hope the weather dudes are as accurate as usual coz looks like rain on sat and worse on sun.
what was wrong with summer desert storms?!?! (apart from not getting the 'storms' bit)
3 of us . getting ready to pack. thermals & wet weather gear.
still looking forward to it.
following daughter on sat to pick her up, expecting a lot of that
hoping on the sun that son & mates will be worn out so i can keep up with them
fun weekend away but man that was hard work!
the open desert sections (which seem to get less and less every time i do this ride, sad face) were as always awesome and why we come up for this ride but the forestry stuff with the rain and mud and general less than ultimate fitness made it a bit of a mission at times.
but when you're sitting out in the desert looking at the views it's all good.
as for chris birch doing it on his 1190... i just don't understand how.
