I have. But I'm older now and insisting on my right to criticise anyone younger.
    Speed doesn't kill people.

I did the *555 thing a couple of months ago over a car that deliberately ran me off the road cos I had the nerve to get in front of him at the narrow end of a two-lane. Flipped him the bird fifteen minutes later as he was stuck in the gridlock. (I was gonna kick his panels in on the way past, but...hey! I'm a good guy!) Nothing came out of it in the end. I guess they just sent a letter saying they had a complaint from another motorist.

In this case however, complaint is an understatement. The goober on the CBR sounds like he is not insured or even warranted and any mess he makes is gonna cost someone else in the end, so I would actually bypass *555 and call the lads in blue on 111 for any extreme speeds like that. Especially in a built-up with kids running amok. It certainly warrants an emergency in my opinion, cos at that rate, there soon will be one.
No matter what shit you got in to in the past, your future remains spotless.

I'm impressed to see that my fellow Kiwibikers believe that not only did they never do something dumb when they were young (at least Lou recognises the hypocrisy), but that the Police nicking this fella will actually have a positive effect.

Fellas, I for one put my hand up and say I've done dumber things than that in the past. And when someone called the pigs (cos that's what they are to people like that), what did I do? I wasted a truckload of police time, making sure they got all their paperwork right, giving them the runaround, and sometimes they had enough to ping me, sometimes they didn't. Every time I plead poverty, and paid it off at less than f*** all each week. And of the 27 months I've spent disqualified in my life, you take an educated guess at exactly how many days I didn't drive for... And when they stop you and you're disq, two things happen - either you stop and give your mates details (cos your car is always registered to a person of the opposite sex who you claim rightly or wrongly to be your g/f or b/f and you've left your wallet in your car), or if you're doing something that will get you a ticket you do a runner. And runners are dangerous. Trust me. I've never crashed yet, but getting air at 250k over a rise cos you were so intent on going abso-farking-lutely flat out rather than just merely speeding, is NOT my idea of fun.

So aside from making you feel like you've made a contribution to road safety, can someone please explain how dialling *555 will have any effect? My opinion is that next time he'll just make sure he has the plate removed.

Yes, and yes. BUT I made sure I stuck to the speed limit in Whangarei (I know how hard the cops are) AND I didn't stop to fill the bike, AND I very rarely run red lights, AND I wear a jacket

Maybe the kid won't be as pig shit stupid as you, and a cop having a word to him might prevent him from winding up in a ditch or worse killing someone else. Not everybody is a worthless leech on society with no respect for the lives of others like you appear to be.

i have been driving for 7 years.
my 3 most powerful cars had over 1080hp between them, all capable of getting to over 200kmh real quick.

i have no speeding fines, no disqualifications, DUIs, 2 Accidents, once when a rear tie-rod failed, and once when i had a blowout on a front tire at 100km/h. both times there were no other parties involved, an no charges pressed.

i called *555 once on a woman who i was later told had 3 young children in the back of the car, was 2x over the alcohol limit, and was disqualified for drink driving. i was asked to court to identify her, which i was able to do because had been sitting next to her at a set of lights, and i happened to look over at her.

Arrow I'm that way in a couple of weeks.

I'll keep an eye out for this turkey.
