    wanker on a cbr

so i am driving my wife and myself to go look at a house to buy on saturday arvo. it was a beautiful day and perfect for riding. pull up to the traffic lights. red light so i stop. some prat obviously a learner, comes rolling through between 2 lanes on a cbr250rr. it had a spraycan-with-no-masking paintjob, ovespray all over the screen, seat, cracked as hell fairing etc. this thing was noisy as fuck. imagine a harley with open pipes at 5krpm that was this one filtering the traffic. he has a look, takes off through a red light, and heads on up the road. (jeans and a t-shirt BTW). so i think, well gee, the redlight was a bit of crap, and the bike doesnt look to hot but oh well.

we pass him stopped at a gas station about 2 minutes later, still heading home. about 5 minutes later he passes us, i am guessing 130-150km-h(and i am not overexaggerating here) in a built up, very busy (with kids and what not) 50kmh zone. bloody arsehole.

i was about to ring *555, becasue, despite the respect and extreme courtesy i always show bikers (i moved over when i saw him coming up behind me in the queue at the lights to let him through easier) this guy was going to kill himself and probably hurt someone else.

he also had bald tyres i noticed it as he rode past me at the light.

people like this give all bikers a bad name.

*555 every time. A cock is a cock - bike or not... and they still pose a danger to themselves and (more importantly) others...

People like that have probably JUST got their bike. and have yet to learn how to keep it under 50kph..

its easier said than done. but when you first get your bike you feel totally oblivious to police and yourself. so you go crazy on the road.

if you see them in 6 months time after getting their restricted, they'l probably be a bit calmer.

im not sure whether that accounts for anything. but even when i got my SV, i found it really hard not to thrash it at every set of traffic lights...

ringing *555 may be a bit harsh. but it'd teach him a lesson

I kind of feel the same about the two guys who passed us near Clevedon on Saturday (an R1 and I think a ZX10). They were obviously good riders, but they were going just slightly slower than a bazillion km/h, and just ahead of us were several groups of cyclists with pursuit vehicles. There's no way you could call the way they were riding 'safe'.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

not to be harsh, but if he keeps going on like that for very much longer we'll read about it in the papers before long, the only problem is he might bring someone else down with him, i was going to say i hope the cops catch up with him first - ah well you never know right.

To be blunt I don't care.. if they ca't keep it under 50kph (or 65 for that matter) they don't have a snow balls chance in hell of controlling it at much higher speeds...

If they're in a built up zone - they're a gone burger. I don't care if it's Rossi himself -I'll ring the cops - coz that's just dumb

    MDU
PS - Rossi wouldn't do those speeds in that area anyway... he's too good... and KNOWS the dangers involved.

Whoops - sorry Mikey - didn't mean the "wanker on a cbr" bit, just the description of the bike!

Whangarei seems to be good at producing these idiots, didn't some twat kill him self and some poor girl running from the cops a while ago?

Call *555, a couple of guys on R1's doing 150 on the open road is one thing, they obviously have the money and hopfully the experience to be reasonably safe rather than some young fool on a broke ass 250 doing 3 times the speed limit, you dont want this guy racing past your kids schools and playgrounds.
