Great fun, too. I did the six-hour in a team of two.

Next year I'm going to train properly and have a crack at the 12-hour solo.

    I can see it now:

The KiwiBiker Adventure Racing and Mountainbike Team

There's just one problem that I have found. It's bloody hard to tie a kayak and a mountainbike onto a motorbike...

Mate now thats when you have a trailer attached to the back of your m/bike.
There are heaps out there with trailers who use them when they go away for weekends or touring around the countryside.

Meh. Ye of little faith. You just haven't tried. Here's the treadley, I'm working on the kayak. Thinking maybe adapt it as a sort of streamlined helmet cover.

Use it AS the helmet. And Pushbike helmets are already the right shape.

I've been commuting to work (10km each way) on my Trek 4400 hardtail (bought 2nd hand for $400) and I must say in comparison commuting on my motorbike feels absolutely boring! On the pushbike I get to (well maybe not legally) run red lights, switch between road and footpath and practice jumps off any raised surface!

Bought a 2nd hand Kona Coiler full suspension bike for $1400 a couple of months ago and was regretting it after riding it on the road a few times (it's a bastard to climb up hills on) - then I took it to WoodHill. Suddenly all the trails lost their bumps and everytime there was a downhill section, I'd leave all my mates on their hardtails waaay behind! Got to work up the courage to take on the harder jumps there though..

If anyone is interested, I'm thinking of doing the King country classic MTB race..
