I think your mate should send the form back and list 3 or 4 different people on it, say he had some mates over and decided he'd let them have a ride but has no idea which who was speeding, just make sure the mates know about it

If they can't identify the driver, they'll make the owner wear it. Then your only recourse is in court.
That tight painful feeling, is their grip on your balls.

my friend never saw apolice car or did his radar detecter beep at all , he did how ever overtake several cars at the place mentioned on the letter, he then stopped at kaukapakapa while his accomplice filled up with gas , he was parked on the side of the main road while all the traffic he previously overtook slowly made its way through kaukop!

There's the answer to this gross miscarriage of justice. The narc got the wrong rego when they saw you both stopped. It was the other, unknown, bike that was being naughty.

And when the guy STILL gets summonsed to Court and tells that to the Judge?

If he's lucky he's just lost time off work, travel expence and a generally bad day!

    If unlucky? fine, costs etc.....

I've had letters from the police (in response to *555 complaints I made before I realised what a waste of time that was) without any postage or franking marks on them and they were sent to my PO box not home. The police are like parliament aren't they - don't pay postage? I've had letters from other government organisations with no stamps, etc. on them too, so I'd assume it was genuine.

I'd agree with what's been said - say it is highly likely you were the person riding the bike that day, but you can't recall any incidence of excessive speed. Ask who claimed you were doing that speed - if a member of the public, deny it and expect a slap on the hand with a wet bus ticket (the punishment for *555 type offences). If it was a cop, ask the circumstances - did they have a speed recording device, were they facing you or in a side road when the alleged offence occurred, were they in a vehicle travelling behind you, etc. If you blasted past an off-duty cop who was travelling at 100kph and he knew damned well you were doing at least 120kph, you may end up with a ticket and/or an appearance in court.

Best to get it sorted now, if they have pretty good evidence you were committing the offence you are going to be charged and if you go and see them early and try and downplay the speed, you may end up with just a warning or perhaps a fine for doing up to 120kph at worst. If you ignore it, it won't go away, it will only get worse.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

    Mufty?????

Mate if i were u i would just play it cool, u can guess who saw ya mate all ya like but realy no one has any idea(except the coppers)i would send the letter back denying u know anything about it, then its up to them to decide if they think they have enough to take u to court or forget about it...I dont see any other safe option.

There was something in there that might have helped you but it looks like it went right over your head. Oh well, you'll have to go with the bush lawyers advice instead.

IVE FOUND THIS OUT MYSELF A FEW TIMES , FUCK THE PIGS THEIR A BUNCH OF CUNTS , THEY NEED TO BE MAKING PROPER DECESIONS WHO AND WHO NOT TO PROSOCUTE, ITS DOWN TO THE INDIVIDUAL PIG TO START MAKING MORAL DECISIONS TO DO THE RIGHT FUCKEN THING.
INSTEAD OF CONCENTRATING ON GATEWAY CRIMES , LIKE ASSAULT , BURGS , AND DRUG DEALING THEY WAIT TILL THEY BECOME BIG CRIMES COMITTED BY THESE GUYS LIKE RAPE AND MURDER
