All Busas the world over have the same power stats about 155hp at wheel or 165/170 at crank, some have different emissions controls and the 1st models had no top speed restrictions. There have been very few refinements to them over the years. From what i can tell by talking to people all over the world they seem to be all the same, apart from U.S spec they are left hand drive there.

In fact, is the Hayabusa still the fastest production bike? Looking at those stats it would seem like the Gixxer has the advantage
The 12 eats 'em for breakfast,my 2000 model was noticeably faster up top,and the newer 12's are faster again while the busa hasn't hardly changed....and all three will eat the thous over about 250k.....

I saw a tlr today and although its simmilar not the same a a gixxer or busa, I stil lthink the busa looks like a gixxer with a weight management problem, I do find that most sports bikes look very simmilar to me but I can tell the diffrence between most lambrettas by the head light or mudgaurd, All to your own I suppose

I can tell pretty much any modern bike in like 1/1000th of a second. Like today, instantly spotted a Hayabusa, then a GSXR 1000 K5, then a CBR1000RR real fast as... I rule the gotehill

I've been waiting for Sensei to post to this thread. He knows whether a 'Busa will beat a GSXR or not :-)

I used to wonder why the strange name. Hayabusa is a Japanese falcon that preys on other birds, including Blackbirds.

Clever I thought, but then I'd still prefer the Blackbird

You mean the TLS...97 TLS were recalled for a steering damper retro fit...not tlr.

I think TLR can with em standard in 98 when they were realesed...

They wouldn't be far apart till 240-50kph once over that kiss the busa good bye. In the twistys though the a busa rider can kiss the GSXR goodbye, depends on what ya want really. Buts it's all torque.

Horsepower is only a caulculation of torque over time...
Revs multiplie torque,in a given time frame, gives you HP...which is the generated force of a motor[in this case]...so the thou is producing a higher generated force than the busa at higher rev's...so if the thou motor was in the busa...with the busa's gearing it will go faster topend...the drag coe of the busa has more to do with topend than what most people are lead to believe...air creates a huge amount of fricton...its caulculation I can't remeber...but its digressive...find a fan that will blow a 300kmph wind at you standing up [u won't beable to stand or squat in that amount of wind...this is just an example]....then squat down...you'll more than halve the force...
halve that force and from memorie you require about 33% less HP!!!!
