They're 3 completly different bikes. GSXR is the most popular because it offers great power / handling at a reasonable price.Originally Posted by texmo

Look the same?
they all have 2 wheels?
"Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity"
Granted they have the generic "Suzuki" look, but these bikes aren't about looks - at least for me:
GSX1300-R Hayabusa:
- 1298cc inline-4 hyper sports tourer
- Comfy, grunty, FAAAAST!
- Around 150 hp, 210kg
TL1000R:
- 996cc V-Twin superbike
- Grunty, throbbing, FAAST
- Nimbler handling than Hayabusa
- Around 120 hp, 195kg
GSX-R1000:
- 988/998cc inline-4 superbike
- Grunty, FAAAAST!
- More performance than above two
- Around 150 hp, 168kg
Slob by name, not by nature..
TLR - Fast
GSXR - Very fast
Hayabusa - Fastest production bike
In fact, is the Hayabusa still the fastest production bike? Looking at those stats it would seem like the Gixxer has the advantage
Busa has more weight, but better aerodynamics and gearing for very high speed runs.

Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
TLR - fast, but make sure that it has a steering damper fitted. Early models were recalled as the short wheel base and big power plant combined to make for a very 'twitchy' bike. Nice to ride, great for wheelies, but a pain in the arse (literally) over any kind of distance.
GXR - A very fast race bike replica. More manageable than a TLR, less prone to tank slappers and an altogether more complete machine. A very capable machine. Although critics will say that earlier models don't like high mileage due to their build quality. Not so for K4,K5 models. Gets my vote
Busa - No longer the worlds most powerful production bike, (ZX-12R is if you go by BHP). Not a racing bike - straight line speed over a few K’s and it will beat most other production bikes, but show it a set of medium grade corners and its enormous bulbous weight will soon have you being overtaken by 600 and 1000 sports bikes. A very capable sports tourer though, but not particularly friendly around town due to its weight.

They can't possibly all "look" the same being distinctly different models?Originally Posted by texmo

from what i know, the TL1000R does look a bit like the older SRAD GSXR line (750 and 600). Nowadays the gixxer thou and busa are a tad overpowerd for my liking but i know ppl that have been enjoying them thoroughly.
I think the gixxer thou wins a 1/4 mile against the busa but i may be wrong. I dont think the busa has changed much since it was bought out (maybe a bit more power/less weight) but otherwise still looks the same to me.
On the aerodynamic side of things... a guy was doing top speed runs on a modded GSXR600... he got an extra 5mph just my changing his front guard to a busa one... 5mph just from airflow over the front wheel at top speed - that is some serious R&D if you ask me![]()

where opinion holds more weight than fact.
It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
Not so, even though the Busa is heavier and aerodynamics do play a part in it's strong top end, it's all about the cubes, 1000cc to 1300cc, it's the torque thats kills the GSXR1000 up top. They wouldn't be far apart till 240-50kph once over that kiss the busa good bye. In the twistys though the a busa rider can kiss the GSXR goodbye, depends on what ya want really. Buts it's all torque.Originally Posted by alarumba
