Dainese Pro Metal RS Gloves - Cheap As

    http://www.dainese.com/us_en/full-metal-rs.html

A mate said he can import some of these for $189 per pair if enough people are interested.
If you are keen, pm me with your email address and I'll give you some info, will need at least 10 people to get them at this price.
I will be grabbing some, so just need 9 more people.

    They retail for $350+

So if Dainese's own website lists these at a RRP price of 289 Euros (450 NZD), how is your mate able to sell them for $189?

    Chinese knockoffs perhaps?

Indeed. Cheapest I could see on sale was $250 USD. Seems a little too good to be true.

Burglary/drug sale proceeds??? #Money #laundering perhaps... Could have got a good wholesale deal, lots of places going bust in states...
BTW Euro not good comparison, stuff always seems way overpriced in Euros vs NZD vs USD...

I decided to order a single pair at full price, just to see if they are indeed real or not. I'll update with details when they arrive, there were only 3 sizes avaliable as well (M, L, XL)

They will be out of China and full price will be US$89, so the 'friend' is very generous and selfless selling them at $189 I got a set last week, official Dainese bag, instruction manual and all....

They are the real things as Dainese have these made in China. Probably overstock or weekend jobs. Once the masses get onto procurement in this manner, kiss goodbye traditional retail channels.

So you never saw that fairgo episode on counterfeit goods, with very slick copies of stihl chainsaws etc...
Your gloves may look the part but prob made out of ratskin instead of leather, you wont know until 5m into your next crash... Good luck.

No, I didn't, but I have compared them to genuine ones from Revzilla in the US. Identical. Absolutely identical. I could go so far as cut both sets open, but then I would ruin two pairs of good gloves. They would have come from the same factory. I see the same with the likes of Diesel jeans and North Face. There may be many reasons that they are sold through these channels, eg: out of hours manufacture, excess production, end of line, seconds, loss of contract. These are made in China anyway and this price better reflects the price ex factory with local wholesale margin as opposed to the many and varied margins applied once they arrive here.

Well in the chainsaw instance they had even completely copied the official packaging etc and the saw was prob ok for about the first 5 hours of use then...
Packaging for most goods is usually supplied to a factory by a third party. Eg I used to pick up the label reels for Watties goods from a place in Auckland, for the right bribe it would have been quite easy to pass them on to my mate Long Dong Brue and he could have put them on catfood tins or anything and resold etc...
Bravo if you've scored but my money is on counterfeit goods. Take a very close look at the stitching and leather thickness before entrusting your hands to them, especially if doing trackdays or racing...

I doubt very much that a company such as Dainese would shit on their distribution network like that.

Maybe the gloves are cheap because they haven't got the must-have yellow ones in stock?

Pretty sure a Watties label on catfood would devalue the contents

Yeah margins like research and development, testing, after sales service, and the sponsorship money to your favourite riders.
