Years ago, my dad caused a similar duck-induced accident.

Saw some ducks crossing the road blimmin miles up the road. He was being followed by his dad in another car. Mum had time to ask politely if he was going to stop. Then reiterated that his dad's reaction times might not be particularly quick. Then told him to stop. Then he stopped in a hurry about 5 yards short. Blam.

No injuries fortunately.

Nup. Parked means "Parking Brake" was on or parking gear was engaged. Nothing more. Hence the names.

Otherwise you would call it the "permanently stopped brake" or "Non-Motion gear".

But the really funny part is that he crashed into it. Regardless of it was a car. It could have been Moose, Bear, Cinder-blocks, Deer, Tree, Person, House....... and some of those move.
