Re OP. I like it. My kinda Harley. The problem with it is that by the time you put all the shit back on it that you need to get to get it registered - guards that comply, number plate, legal lighting - it kinda looks like a XR1200 again - with a smaller tank.

Personally my favourite Deus bike is a Big Block - probably a standard dyna - that they turned into a full-on flat tracker style. I'd throw more coin at it that they did. Excel wheels, Ohlins, Race Tech, et al. For a big bloke it would be the shizz.

I rode my mate's XB12 a while back while he rode my duck.Not as chuckable as the ducati but I was more than impressed with the handling.

They're super SUPER fickle regarding tyre pressures and rear shock sag too. So if they ain't right...it all goes out the window.

I read somewhere that EB's favourite bike was a Honda RS250 GP bike and that as near as possible the Buell geometry and wheelbase mimics that. they certainly are short and go well. I really liked the one I rode. But the bike I bought was that Honda Hornet 900: what swung it was same money but brand new and Honda reliability and new bike warranty.

Probably a mistake, in hindsight.

Why it still wears a HD badge is perplexing, since 1/2 of the frame appears to be of that brand, the rest seems to come from other sources.

The list of other manufacturers supplying parts, seems rather large.

"Custom", I presume...

I must be reading it wrong, doesn't it have:
- A block from a Buell, bored out
- Sportster crank
- Sportster rods
- Ported heads (and presumably larger valves)
- A different carb
- Custom inlet manifold
- Aftermarket pipes

I'm not sure that swapping out the motor, then doing further work to it, the changing the entire induction and exhaust systems, equates to a light massage. I'm not really sure how it only equates to less than a 10% increase in power either.



When the most exciting thing they can say about it is how quickly it starts, it really paints a picture.

Easy fixed, Buy an MT-01 and put a Stage 2 ECU in, open the mufflers, airbox, and a decent filter for proper breathing..... Big block motor, Cafe/standard styling.

Having raced an RS250, I can say that they're quite close in feel chassis wise.

You do know Buell motors come from Harley-Davidson right? So the frame is HD...as is the engine...why not wear HD badging?

Same reason we don't call all Harleys *Showa's* simply because they have showa forks in em mate...and even before HD purchased Buell...Buell purchased the Sporty engines from HD obviously...so really...the things not really just a Harley? Seriously?

I'm sorry to hear this news regarding the lack of a Harley-Davidson Dealership/s in your city.
They won't allow a man of letters with a keen interest in the vehicles to evaluate one either.
They probably wouldn't even let him keep it for a day or two* even if he made the right noises.
