Most of the differences he's describing were carried over to the later XB12 engine. Don't think they splashed out on magnesium cases for the stock XB but most of the remaining differences are easy enough. Easy for an engine shop that is.

That's the success of marketing in the modern day I suppose. My sporty does it for me. I've spent more on it than what it would have cost me to get any big block I desired ,just on the improvements I wanted. Nothing from the "Wall of Chrome" either
( In my tiny mind anyway).
If I was a sane person I would have bought a Buell when they first arrived.
Would have cost a lot less but it would still be just a hardley to the knockers.
If I want all the technology I just get the MV out.
Truth is I still enjoy polishing the sporty more than I do trying to wash all that technology.
