I have only ridden that road in one direction: up.
Mind you, if I was on my push bike I'd rather ride down thanks. Might need new disc pads for the push bike afterward though.

Well I was going to link the truck red light one next but it looks like there's been some serious blowback for McScreamy and all evidence of both vids have been erased off two seperate facebook feeds.
Bus driver did NOT change two lanes. He was already out of the bus stop early in the sequence, still indicating and pointing at the right lane. Any reasonable motorist should accept its likely to continue into right lane.
What a tool, absolutely flying down that hill. Now just imagine of a poor car or truck driver had been involved in that mix and no go pro, you can just read what the headlines would actually be...
Hopefully the cops investigated this and charged the cyclist, to keep the stats honest but some how i doubt it.
Listening to that guy call 111 was annoying, a pretty obvious location, just get the ambo rolling but the call taker is asking lots of dumb questions. They seem to freak out if you cant spoon feed them GPS coordinates.
One was so bad I hung up on them as several other people were also calling about same crash, several minutes later they ring back and they still dont know where... couldn't get down to victims anyway so found a forestry road sign and then shes all happy...
When I had to ring one through, with the help of the first local I could give them an actual number on the road (despite me telling them to head either way into the rural road and they couldn't miss it).
Later while giving the statement to a cop I hear over the radio, "Where's that", and a reply of "No idea".
Perhaps GPS co-ord would be better...

[QUOTE=BoristheBiter;1130743744]maybe but an indicator does not give you right of way

Another factor its illegal to overtake at an intersection if that other vehicle is indicating to use that lane.
And there is no such thing as needing permission to change lanes. The bus was indicating its intent a clear five seconds before McScreamy starting sucking the seatcover.
Anyone with half a braincell should recognise this normal akld driving scenario and drive accordingly.
There are two lanes so no overtaking involved.
never said anything about permission, it's called right of way and an indicator isn't enough, he could have had it on all fucking day and it still won't make a difference.
Anyone with half a brain cell would know what the road rules are and use them, regardless of where it is in the country.
A good idea. I have driven buses in peak time traffic, and sometimes the only way to keep to a timetable is to push your way into the traffic.
The bus driver had his indicators going before pulling out. Anyone with half a brain can see that there is a lot of bus sticking out in front of the front wheels. Even with the front wheels staying in the left lane, the front bumper may well swing into the far lane to some degree. The driver also has to take the bus out far enough to ensure the left rear wheels clear any vehicle park directly in front of the bus stop.
The link in R650R's OP wont open so I'm going by my experiences at driving buses.
I was assuming the bus in question was pulling out of a bus stop, not just changing lanes. Which was it?

You may not pass a vehicle ahead of you that is indicating in reasonable time to move into that lane. At the end of the day the following/overtaking vehicle is always responsible in situations like this.
Judge Judy would certainly call it careless driving by Mc Screamy especially with the multiple ad campaigns we have on let the bus out into traffic in city.
The bus was already 95% out of the bus stop and into the first lane of traffic at T zero. At same time car in left lane is braking to let bus out and you can see bus right indicator on.
From here on in the bus continues on an obvious trajectory towards the second lane while still indicating right. The third lane is a right turn lane with stopped traffic.
At T five seconds McScreamy violates his seatcover and brakes harshly, nearly colliding with front right quarter of bus which by then is about a metre into his lane, still indicating.
At no time does Mc Screamy acknowledge any hazard present or reduce speed till last moment.
