The Rimutaka Hill is lovely today

Well, inbetween job interviews there's a bit of time for riding, so its the takas again today.

Usual story, up Wallaceville Hill, round Whitemans Valley and Mangaroa, and out Plateau Road onto the Kaitokes.

The Kaitokes are rubbish. The only good thing I can say about the roading restructure is that it will get you to the Rimutaka hill faster.

Today, its 30km/hr and gravel, stop signs, yadda yadda and they've finally got rid of that nice corksrew down into the valley mid Kaitokes :sob

But the Rimutakas are great - I thoroughly recommend them at 2.00pm on a Friday.

Its overcast but bugger all traffic on the road, and get this - there is NO WIND AT ALL over the entire hill.

    Just great.

One of my best rides over the hill yet.

And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

When I went through the straigtened twisties I found myself on the very fine gravel shit. First time and was VERY paranoid about canning infront of a truck. Felt ridiculous, and must have confused the traffic when I got onto the normal shit and ABSOLUTELY floored it .

Just looked out the window at the tukas.

The cloud is dissapating, and there's still no wind.

    Go for it!!!!

Oh - and my wife's friend has just dropped around with two tickets to the Wellington vs Bay of Plenty game at the Stadium tomorrow.

Enjoy your work. Don't worry snuffles - holiday time will be over for me really quick. Four interviews this week and already two lined up for next week.

But in the meantime, I'll make sure I keep you updated on how good the riding is while you're slaving away...

    Smile

Makara was nice today too, apart from a couple of damp patches. Mmmmm - the long way home from Uni.

Bugger, I was gonna do the takas today too. I ended up going around blue mountains instead. Didn't see any RF900's though. Did practice a few wheelies though, I still suck!
