I'll be there again. The plan is Scott my son will ride the tenere and l'll ride the WR again. He's keen to do the challenge sections as well

Arse! this clashes with the TT2000,
I was wanting to do both but might just have to do my own version of the DB on a different date.

Unless the DB1K has fresh new terrain, it's barely changed in 5 years. Enter the TT2000, there are new roads every time.

    Slightly off topic, but...

Here's a 'special' TT2000 checkpoint that I've asked Mike to include for 2015, but he's declined. Maximum points for it, though!

Give it a go....we were all over the place last but a lot of what we did was more of our own riding added onto their little bits....great fun and always room to explore...

    Epic say...
we hope to see you all in February 2015...where we have a few surprises for you lined up already!
mmm, wasn't going to bother again as I expect to be down there for Bannockburn week instead as I enjoy the laid back messing about more than the focused go go go, but can't help but wonder what the surprises are and if they be worth going again for.

Ha ha, be nice but I'm not so sure you speak the truth.

Now lets see, the first one was at 5:30am on the 10th March 2007. We all started together that year and it was very dark as we climbed the Nelson side of the Mangatapu.
So anyway... 2015 will be the 8th DB1K... and my 8th DB1K start.... yay.
If only I'd managed to finish them all.

Perhaps I could lengthen the RRRR to 1000km. It wouldn't be difficult to add distance. It wouldn't be as scenic or challenging as the DB1K, but I'm sure I could add plenty of interesting bits. Just a thought...
