The little Ninja is no more. GPZ250R Vs COW

Well. Interesting morning this morning. I was off on my way to work which is a 14km bike ride on the open road. Took the little Ninja out and was happily cruising at 100km/hr until I saw a cow in the middle of the road. Well I didn't actually see it until my headlight was on the other side of it. T-boned it and was busting my arse not to drop the damn bike. The bike disintergrated under me as I tried all I could to not go for a slide down the road.

I have extensive bruising on both my legs and sprained both thumbs but generally ok. Even got the day off work too..

The thing that pisses me off the most is I really liked my little Ninja. It was in great condition and now it is a pile of metal.

Police are still looking into the accident but I am very keen for some farmer who can't keep his cows on the green stuff to be either buying me a new bike or buying my piece of junk off me for $3000.

    The cow

Died at the scene. Better her than me. Another thing that pisses me off is I actually have 6 weeks left till I get my full licence and am *legally* allowed to ride the GSX. I was trying to be a good boy and stay on the 250 till I get my full licence. Have to get to work somehow now. Actually, now I also need to look into hiring a 250 to do my licence on.

Well I really didn't want to hear that!

I am not letting this go by the way. If the cop isnt going to do anything then I will be very very disappointed.

    hopefully you're bike is insured.
Make a claim, then one of those angry insurance fockers will track down the farmer and rape him until he coughs.

The owner of the cow is legally bound to pay your costs if the cow was on a public road

you got insurance? let them handle it. they will buy you a new bik to the value of the old one and because it was not your fault, the no-claims bonus and deductible will not be you rproblem

    thats a whole nother problem.

No insurance on that bike. For 2 reasons really.

    1. i am really cocky and never in a million years thought I would ever ever drop it.
    2. My insurance co want $600 /year to insure the bike for $2.5k

    3. I only intended to keep the bike till I got my full licence so I could do everything legal like and never even thought I would crash it.

    4. I have been on bikes for 20 odd years and the thought of crashing it never seemed concievable.

    5. The cost of insurance Vs risk didn't seem worth it at the time.

Did I mention I never planned on crashing it?

The gsx is getting insured though. Lesson learned.

Apart from my no insurance I think this point is totally beside the point. Not my fault. Not my cow. The farmer can payout on this one. I was farming for 16 years and always had a comprehensive public libability insurance if stock got on the road or wrecked something that wasn;t mine. It was always a concern of mine. I am not anti insurance just at the time being as I have been on bikes all my life without a licence and brought the 250 so I could do everything legally and only got 6 weeks till my full licence the cost of insurance for the bike didn't stack up. Even now I dont think it was a good idea to insure a $2500 bike for $600/year. I would still be in the red if they replaced the bike with teh insurance premiums.

Mr farmer is going to find a very angry man on his doorstep if he dodges his responsiblity to put this right.

Good to see you are ok.

Does anyhone find Coyboyz username slightly ironic (unless youve registered since incident) and that he 't-boned' the cow.

    hmmmm

I find it ironic that I spent 16 years milking cows. 9 of that Sharemilking. June05 I sold up and moved to town cause I am sick of cows. I hate cows. Now I hate them more.

You dont need to have insurance. Find the owner of the cow an make them pay for all of it
