Greetings and salutations.
I feel it is my duty to inform the members of this site of the existance of the Mother's Motorcycle Club (heanceforth refered to as MMC). The MMC is a well established club where the average age of members is below 45 years. My personal experiences of the MMC are from the involvement of my father, a lifelong member.
Any wrongdoings involving MMC members has in no way affected my life even though these wrongdoings required that the MMC have a low profile so as not to attract unwanted attention. The MMC is, after all, a club and not a motorcycle gang and draws membership from many areas of society. As you would expect of any club it does not condone or encourage any illegal activities.
Regards.
does the mothers club still organise their mothers day races
best known for the bagger races, the wide handle bar races and best of all the ape hanger races
the criteria for all events being self obvious
Do all your discussions regarding the existance of your motorcycling club always involve you going heavily on the defensive about it?Originally Posted by Dannica

You may not have noticed but Dannica only posted here the once, way back at the start of September. I doubt she's ever been back!![]()

Yeah I noticed....but funny to think of the old days when the gangs would burn a jappa for turning up at any of their events..
I find it strange that the gangs back in the early 70s would frown upon the jap bikes that were around at that time when you think that those old bonnivilles and trophys etc would have to be fairly well rung out at 120-130 ks if the motors had,nt vibrated apart by then.Shit, my wife use to ride an old yamaha 400 years ago that would have dicked those things in third gear.![]()
What a shame. She was welcomed in the nicest possible way by some KB members...Originally Posted by Clockwork

I did like the Norton Commandos however.
Too true....your wife probably had better riding skills than many of them too.
Back in the 70's my dad had his workshop right in front of a local Gang Pad and the members used to come over to borrow tools to fix their bikes...mum was the office lady and couldnt handle the smell of them so told them not to come back 'til they had a bath & changed their clothes.![]()
Was ok 'cos they had a sort of mutual understanding...They would look out for him & dad would park his truck in front of their gate so the constabulary couldnt raid the place.
Uh uh,don't think so - the only Jap bike back then that had a total performance package was the RD350,the rest of them handled so bad they were dangerous to ride. Those old Bonnies and stuff would be wrung out at 115 mph,but that was fair flying back then, and with the roads back then being more twisty and in poor condition a bike that handled was pretty important.Vibration? Wasn't really an issue, but ride one now and and you wonder how we done it! Oil leaks...owner inflicted, with a bit of care there was no need for them to leak.Originally Posted by vs04
The best rider I've ever pillioned behind was someone pretty high up in Highway 61,I had always thought those sort of guys couldn't ride for shit, but he was using techniques I didn't cotton onto until years later,it was a hell of a ride and I remain impressed.

jap bikes of the early 70's handled like shit
the likes of tridents and commandos would see off most jap bikes and a good bonnie or lightning would more than see off a honda 750/4
still got a 71 lightning and it woul see off most 71 jap bikes on a decent bit of road
