    Winter rides

We get fog in Te Tron. But that's because the wind doesn't howl through all the time. Unlike some places (eh P North?)

So sometimes we get days like today. Dead still, plenty sunshine not a cloud anywhere above. Cool () but clear. And days like this are made for riding.

Engines seem to run better, road is dry, no melted tar etc. Just be sure to choose a road that is not often frequented by Te HP because the temptation to treat the rules as "more like guidelines" is hard to resist...(only if'n you'm a hoon of course...).

So I got stuck in today and felt better for it.

Make hay while the sun shineth, eh.

Yeah, I'm with you. Took a two hour detour this morning to get to work. Got quite raucous

I will admit, with the clear crisp air, dry roads and people not driving with thumbs surgically implanted in their rectums, I may be riding to work a little faster than the prescribed limit....

however there is no back road to get to my work unless you count SH16 as a Back road

Yeah .. I think SH16 is a back road - I have part of SH2 on my way to work ...

The weather here's been awesome too - a bit chilly but hey ... keeps me awake in the mornings I'd rather stay in bed than go to work ..

Went to Kaikoura via the coast rd on Sat-frosty with damp in the shade on the way up and dry on the way back. Nice.
On Sunday-went to Akaroa-pissing it down near and on the hill. Back tire broke loose on shiny seal. Sphincter pucker time. Dont like these bridgestone t30s much at all.

Yeah, I love winter rides. Nice cool mornings, starting at around 10 to 12 deg going up to a max of around 25 deg, so it's not too hot, those clear blue big country skies, and tootling through the cane fields.

It's the summer that shits me, the wet, the humidity, so I drive the cage to the air conditioned mall and sit reading a book while having a long slow coffee.

Sadly my ride to and from is either SH1 or SH2, but I go home at midnight tonight, and a 'detour' to 'Porirua', round the bay, and over the Haywards, back to the Hutt Valley could be a goer!!

Fantastic ride to work this morning in Dunedin, in fact it feels like a mild summer's day today.

Yesterday was a bit chilly, 1 deg in the morning, but you only have to worry about your fingers when they STOP feeling cold.

I have one decent detour in my 20m commute if I take the motorway. Today, though, I think Three Mile Hill might be in order.
