    Anyone using recent Rev'it gear?

I've got a Revit Off Track jacket and Sand pants set, been using them for years and rather attached to them, but wondering whether I should be updating as they've done a few km.

Everytime I look at the vast range I either end up cross eyed or distracted on something else, so perhaps one of you lot might know. Essentially looking for a direct replacement. Doesn't need to survive the depths of winter (got Rukka for that), but does need to breathe well in summer, like the Off Track jacket, out comes both liners and it's just about a mesh jacket (fantastic for adv riding on hot summer days). Mesh pockets, or some kind of pocket on chest is useful as I put my keys and earplugs in them.

I like the Rev'it as I've had a good run out of them and stuff like pants are available in a tall version, which I need. Oh, and I don't want bloody white

Spectrum I think it is. Has chest and arm vents. Arm vents work well. Its not a mesh one though. I have the mesh pants which are brilliant in summer.

I've got the Rev'it Vapor set. Very nice but not for hot summer. I'm looking at getting the GT-R Air for summer.

You should try to narrow it down to 2-3 then checkout the detailed videos on RevZilla.com which might help.

Ive got the revit sand pants and it suits me because both the thermal and waterproof liners can be removed leaving a well armoured lightweight pants for warmer weather especially with the air vents open. My jacket is a Technic Freeway and its been bloody awesome, totally waterproof, 5 separate vents which can be opened for a nice cool airflow around the upper body. Never had to use the thermal liner. But everyone to their own when it comes to gear.

I have the Defender GTX jacket and pants. Love the jacket, lots of pockets, vents surprisingly well in summer with decent sleeve and chest vents. Proper Gortex liner does the job much better than their previous proprietary version, the name of which escapes me now.

I've lost a bit of weight since buying the pants so the fit is no longer ideal. I also tore them just above the knee area when I snagged the foot peg walking the bike up a ramp. A little dismayed they ripped so easily to be honest, but I like the big vents on the thighs, excellent airflow, especially when standing on the pegs.

most of my gear is Rev'It and I really like it. Its road gear rather than adventure, I have the Energy jacket and factor pants. Plus side is the long fitting pants so agree with you there. The waterproof liner is not removable in this model, I can see the attraction of that. I was looking at the Sand 2 jacket last week and it looks the business. I have a Tarmac Air mesh jacket for the warmer weather, love it. My boots and gloves also come from the Dutchies, when I was buying they were the only ones that I could get a decent fit for my odd shaped feet and hands. And last but not least I have a rain suit, I liked the idea the sizing was a match to their other products.
It seems the importers dont always bring the full range in. Motomail has a good offering from their catalogue.
I was in Bay Riders of Tauranga last week and found they had loads of choice too. I would like to see pants with braces, or braces as an option. To get the length in the leg I find the pants are a bit big in the waist. I went for an Oxford offering which is doing the job well.

Hydratex I think? I do think upgrading to Goretex would justify the expense on new gear...

Yeah, often the whole range isn't available, but when you consider the cost, number of sizes, triple for some ranges with short regular and tall... you can see why. I've bought a few things from Motomail, but for something major like the suit, I'd rather import in exactly what I want, than settle for what's available. I'll also freely admit to waiting for clearances or something, as even importing, regular price ain't cheap... btw, the Proton pants (old model now, but I've still got that pair) did have built in braces.

I've just remembered why I ruled out the Sand 2 jacket. It has snaps on the wrists, rather than the velcro my other jackets have. Snaps are damn annoying under gloves, so that's not an option for me. Re the Sand pants, I didn't realise when buying that they had 2 removable liners. In summer it is nice having both removed, plus big venting pockets when standing, but I can't say I often use the thermal liner. For both jacket and pants the thermal liners are bulky vs normal thermals, so I use those rather than the suit liners most of the time.

Oh, and there must be a long connection zipper between jacket and pants...

The Defender jacket has the snaps on the wrists too. You get the sizing around the wrist spot on with velcro then from then on you just close the cuff with a zip. Over that though, a snap goes over to keep it closed. A second zip works from just below the elbow down to open the vent all the way to the wrist if desired.

Having watched quite a few Revzilla vids before my purchase, I think most of that generation of Rev'it gear works the same way in the cuff department.

I know there were complaints about the zips coming undone, but it's been so little on the Off Track it's hardly a concern. The Sand pants side pockets do unzip heaps. Freaken annoying.

The initial goretex range was defender, legacy and something. Now there are about 8-10 GTX jackets Trying to figure out what's where is most of the problem... Revzilla has 51 jackets for example.

Still, maybe I'm safe. Looking on FC-Moto they've got a few great prices on jackets and pants, but XXL Long pants in the ones I looked at aren't available...

I've had revit gear for a long time now and it seems to do the business good as.
On my 2nd set of all weather jacket and pants (dont ask me what style they are) but they are real waterproof and cool in the summer.
My 2 piece leathers i have had for about 5 years is still going strong (although they may have shrunk a bit) and my 1 piece has had a couple of crashes but still good.
I will buy again for sure, great gear.

Fwiw I'd not buy another 3 liner system again. I'm sure you'll know with your Rukka Armas how not having to faff around with liners, especially one for rain, is a good thing. Goretex pro shell all the way next time for me. I'm eyeing up the Klim Badlands, purely because it has many more vents than the Goretex Rev'it gear.
