    Wanted: Suzuki SV650S Lams

    Hi guys,

I just want to know if there is anyone who can import the Suzuki SV650S Lams into NZ?

I've been looking at the Suzuki SV400S and ran into this again. Quite a few up for sale in Australia. A real pity we don't get them in NZ.

Anyway, my apologies in advance if this has been discussed before (my searches always seem to return 0 no matter what I type). And any assistance will be highly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Avi

The SV650 got replaced a few years ago by the SFV650. The LAMS version of that is available.

Thanks for that. I'm actually looking for the older model (08-10) SV650. Don't really like the look of the SFV, personally. Also will be doing some casual track riding, and we all know the SVs have a great reputation on the track.

I highly doubt you'll find any LAMS SVs. They'd have to be imported used from Oz or maybe the UK.

I'm sure you'd have just as much fun on the track on a Gladius, they just look a bit weird and have a super-gay name.

Yeah, looking at importing one. Need an idea of paperwork and price. Else, I'd be just as happy with a SV400.

Can I ask why you want to spend hundreds (over a thousand?) on importing and getting a bike legal for NZ, when there are already plenty of capable bikes already in NZ?

Why not look at a ER6? Do Yamaha still have the low powered fazer 600? The Honda cbr500 would be good too.

Yeah, i just wanted to see if there was anyone who does/could bring it in or atleast get an idea of costs. But upon further research it seems a lot of hassle, and ultimately costs. So I'll go back to looking for an SV400.
