    Honda Integra 550

Saw a Honda 550 Integra in Dunners parked beside a gas station today, it was very tidy and the chrome 4-into1 looked cool, I was impressed. (But then I'm easily impressed - big tits, cool scoots, hot-rods and loud guns all impress me)

It had a name I cannot remember on the petrol tank.

Are they uncommon and are they a usable (reliable) bike??

I remember they were fairly common in the early 90's pretty sure they were all imports funny enough some were exported back to japan.......
    There was a 400 version

Moving on the CBX750 is a bloody neat bike where did they all go. they were imports as well.
been years since I seen one of those.

    I think Diesel pig races a cbx550.................

...they are a really cool thing that make you wish you didn't own one, but when you rode one, you were glad you did...I did a fair bit of work to keep my girls CBX on the road...mainly the unfixable shock that most would have reached their use by date, by now...brakes were cool...big cast twin things, real cunts to work on...I liked taking it for long test runs after working on it, always immense fun...the corner of the fairings bruised shit out of my knee's...it threw a primary on a ride one day, it came out the top and the bottom of the casings...beautiful Honda, dunno about owning one now...cult status almost in Japan, the CBX 400 anyway...

He did, you can no longer get the bearing shells for the crank in the sizes he needs to rebuild it

They were sold new in NZ. My brother bought one new. We did a South Island trip in about '85 and as we were going down that long hill into Dunners it got a big front wheel shake on. The tubeless front tyre had started to de-laminate and had an air bubble between the layers just under the tread. Had to wait a couple of days for McIver and Vietch to open to buy a new tyre. Was a good bike though but he traded it in on a GB500 in '86.

I used to own a CB 750f integra. Lovely bike. Had a huge mileage on it & an oil addiction. More of a constant tippler than a guzzler. A Honda mechanic's advice was to just keep putting oil in it, despite the wear the engine would just keep on going. Did to. I rode it the length of the country trouble free & in enviable comfort.
My only real negative on the bike was the occasional feeling that it had a hinge in the middle. Never amounted to anything but a bit disconcerting. Admittedly i could have been a bit more considerate of the mileage & vintage with my riding style.

Thought you would have been with all the other big car freaks outside the Capri yesterday morning scummy, guess not. Of course it was a nice bike, it's a Honda.

Was in Dunners at another hot-rod related meeting for the upcoming National Show at Labour Weekend, should be a cool event, tons of Yank Tanks and hot-rods.

Cb sez it was blue and white.

Had weird looking front brakes with the words 'ventilated disc' on what looked like some sort of cover, couldn't actually see the discs.

It looke like the kinda bike I wouldn't mind, had this certain coolness about it.

TBH if I had the space, time & coin I would love to have another Honda of that vintage in the shed. My old integra had the best paint job of any bike I've owned, pearlescent white & candy apple red, gold flecked. Delicious thing to wash & polish. Lots of other nice touches, bit posh really.
The 1100 Bol D'Or with the gold wheels would be a starter.
