    Seeking an apprentice

    Hey again KB gang,

After doing the track day on Saturday (more like having a go for a few laps), I have realised that I will not be able to race my RS125 by myself and I will need to completly change my ways. It has become apparant to me that I will need a full time help in the pit. It's wonderful that a lot of you are wanting to help me but it won't really work unless you know exactly what to do. For me to do well out there, I really need atleast 1 or 2 other people to be my crew ready to do what is required instantly without me having to instruct for every thing and still have to worry about the every last detail.

So I have planed to train someone or 2 people maximum for everything that is required to do on the track.

    Who I am looking for?

    - Previous experience is not important.
    - Someone friendly, down to earth and can stay calm and cool under preasure.
    - Someone who can take instructions and react quickly.
    - Someone who can have a free weeknight or two to go over the bike and disscuss plans through, the dates can be flexible depending on your availability.
    - Someone who does not have any commitments during the race dates, which is obviously the most important thing!

Basically we'll be working really closely so I'd want someone who can be a mate (s) of mine (that's if we aren't already mates). This is because I will need to put in a lot of trust and faith in someone else to be doing some of the work for me, which can make the difference between winning and crashing out big. The last thing I would want is to have dissagreements and conflicts on the track side, so anyone who is easy to get along with is what I'm after.

What can you get out of it? I am really poor so I can't pay for the services but...

    - If you are a newbie then you will specially have a lot to gain from all this.
    - If you are interested in racing and how bikes work, doing this will help you learn and understand a lot more and hopefully get yourself racing as well if that's what you want.
    - I can personally train your riding and pay special attention to the type of riding you want to do and spend time with you on road or track, so that you can be the next KB hot shot while being safe as houses!
    - When the chance arises, I might let you ride my race bike (s).
    - If you have any problems with your own bike, I can help you fix it in my workshop.

Basically if you are interested in motorcycles and are quite passionate about it, you will have loads of fun from this and if you want I can be your "mentor" as well.

If you are interested, you should send me a PM, asking me any questions that you would like to know.

I'd be quite keen actually.. I can't afford to race, but to help those who race would be good.. what about long distance travel tho? that's the only thing I was thinking about. Otherwise, I'd love to offer me help (or anyone else for that matter)

You seem to know all the sites. Are you feeling a bit lonely there Bruce?

Don't worry, you don't have to feel left out. Right after I suss out a pit crew for the team, we still need a brolly dolly yet!

I'm looking for a partner to race with to share expences but being that we're half a world appart from each other that wouldn't work so well. I hope you find someone, I know there are a lot of younger kids out there who'd love to help with something like that. Just have to find a responsable one and you'd have a gold mine.

Im looking to race next season, If you have already found volunteers, i'd appreciate being able to stand in and have a nosey at what is required none the less.

When it comes to performance cars, im a fairly skilled mechanic, with bikes, i have enough trouble getting the bloody fairing off, but reckon i would be able to learn what is neccesary fairly quickly.

Drag racing is my Hobby for now, but the cost of getting my car to the next level for next season, (ie: 10's) is some what more than setting myself up with a bike like yours + gear.

You do realize we are talking about bikes here and that they work slightly different to cars and that Motoracer is looking for someone to help not race with him and what the fuck is 10's?

    Gee wow thanks.

I should have been more specific in my post.

Im looking at Garaging my Drag Racing car, and Getting a Bike Like Motoracers next Season, Not this season... and racing it.

Yes they work slightly differently to cars, but Ultimitly its a Internal Combustion engine, And from what i gathered, most of the assistance he is looking for is based around prepping the engine.

10's, is doing a 1/4 mile in less than 11.00 Seconds. And thats about another $10,000 to do it properly, over my current set up, Assuming nothing breaks over the season of course...

Pardon me for mentioning my "Cage" in a post on KB
