    Hey, welcome dodge10,

A bit of a big call going straight into a 6hundy of that caliber but if you take it easy for a while you'll be ok.

The only advice I would offer is that unless your a nana your first bike will be a steep learning curve and you might find your self on your ass once or twice so I probably wouldn't buy a new bike right away until you've picked up the basics and confidence because gravel rash will drop the resale of your bike big time, also with the new 600's their a bit of a rocket so good gear is highly recommended

    I wouldn't get 600 on an L license if I were you.
    But that's me.

NSR250 is quite pretty too, y'know.....and quite exciting to ride in the twisties.

Also, there is a tale of someone on a cbr250 beating an R1 on a twisty somewhere back in the past......a true legend, that man.

    or months/years?

If you've never ridden a bike, and don't hold a licence - don't do it mate. You're only asking for a painful/fatal, "told you so."

Can you tell I'm now a responsible father?

Whatever you decide - good luck.

    Oh - and welcome.

Well ya' could kill ya'self on a 50 I guess, but the real issue with buying an illegal bike is two fold to me.
You are going to crash, depends totaly on you how much damage you do,but on a 6 it's going to cost shit loads more than if you picked an elcheapo type 250 or similar.
The other thing you probably don't give a shit about now but give it time an you'll remember this post.
You fuck up badly enough an you can get banned from riding/driving indefinatly, plus you just might live long enough to one day need insurance for something, good luck making a claim with a criminal history.
Then again it's your call huh.

plus, no insurance would cover you if you are riding a bike outside the license restriction. Maybe you do not know, but L license only permits bike up to 250cc.

Plus, L plate on CBR600 just ruins the beauty....just ruins it. In fact, no L plate should be on any Honda. They may look ok on a Gixxer 1K....but not a Honda.

if you get your learners you will have to pay more fines man, $400 if you got you full car right, if you got you learners, no plate, going over 70 and then over 250 better off not having a licence at all costs less if you get caught after hours too.

Good luck mate, hopefully you will be around long enough to know there is probably a better way to do it. But I guess everyone else will tell you that. Enjoy and ride safe

Ok, this thing seems hopeless. Damn, im sick of cars. Riding a motorbike is completely different. Thanks for the advices about the fines becos that what bothers me the most, not afraid of dying on a cbr. I will try to get the basics slowly and i believe i will pick it up quickly. God help me. thanks again all
