    Sherco

I see Sherco have a 300cc EFI twostroke enduro bike out now.

Be interested whether this is the dawn of a new age or it fizzles out. Also how it performs re pricing and performance vs the carby 2t's.

Looks like it goes Ok though ...

correct, the four stroke mx bikes went fuel injected partly due to the bog the pumper carbs had which was not great for supercross, i well tuned carb on a two stroke has never had that problem, be interesting times for sure tho,

but in saying that, the fuel injected fourstrokes were a lot smoother in power delivery than their carb'd versions, with the light weight of a two stroke, and a smoother power band FI 2T's may just be the perfect off road bike,

    Interesting!

DFI 2 stroke outboards are dying out and nearly everything is 4T in the marine world these days, so might be the same deal on bikes once the novelty factor has worn off. Certainly KTM shelved their injected 2Ts because they didn't believe the additional complexity gave any benefits over a 4T and it was a move away from why people bought 2Ts, simplicity and ease of maintenance.

I did notice the complete lack of smoke at any point in the vid though, that was quite neat.

I am interested to see how close it resembles our YZ250 EFI ( Blackwood Yamaha ). Although our YZ is transfer port injected this Sherco seems to be injected into the cylinder under the exhaust port height. A form of indirect injection, like the YZ. Advantages are cheaper / lighter construction and with careful attention to injection timing fuel out the exhaust can all but be eliminated. Looks like a drum throttle body too, like our YZ. It would be nice to have a ride on it to compare. Nice job.
