    warrant time!

got a friendly reminder from the AA that my warrant is due in two weeks. its probably a stupid question, but i havn't had to get one for the bike yet. and i was wondering: do all testing stations do bikes or do i have to take it somewhere special??

    Cool

    Ring your local testing place....
As some of the testers can do it and some can't....
depends on whether or not they hold a m/bike license... or something like that.

I go to the Waitakere testing station in Waipareira Ave, West Ak.... and they have a couple of dudes there that can do it..

VTNZ at Kingsland can do it...
Kerry at Motohaus can do it as well.

But don't know about who on the north shore can do it.... (bike WOF)

most on the shore do them too. Just find the one closest to you in the phone book (mine was the glenfield OnRoad) and give them a shout before you head down. Most of the time, there is someone who can take care of you. most. Save a wasted trip by making sure. Else go to a bike shop, like Motohaus where Kerry will sort you out and make sure you're safe

I know a lot of people look to warrants as something to simply get, but I reckon taking it to a bike shop they should do a better job of checking it and picking up more details than perhaps a testing station. And your life is definitely dependent on the condition of all them worky thingies*

That all said, you shouldn't rely on the warrant for checking the condition of your bike...

Whenever I've taken my bike to the local testing station in Levin, they make me ride it while they check everything. When the Beemer needs a warrant I make my husband take it - heavy bike and slippery concrete floor combined with a shorty like me doesn't thrill me much!

I have heard a horror story about a guy who took his bike to get a warrant the testing station guy rode it into the building and dropped it, causing a great deal of damage. Don't blame you for being a big paranoid with your baby!
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

You will do most of the work... hehehe
You will get to do the brakes/braking..... and also get to hold her over on her side for when they check the front forks and the back shocks and the wheels.
You get to do the indicating, lights etc.

They will assist you if you find the bike is too heavy to lift on its side a tad, well they help me....lol. You are only lifting the rear wheel off the ground for a short time... like 10 seconds. The front wheel is dead easy to lift off the ground.

They get to do all the paperwork... and taking not of the vin numbers etc.
Its all over in about 10 minutes...

    Good luck.

Oh and no one sits on my bike when its getting her WOF.

    All done
i was 30 min late due to school traffic and road works though. oh, and it turns out that the warrant wasnt actually due for another 6 months (admittedly it was stupid of me to not actually check that the wof had expired, but i figured the AA knew how to do their job).
anyway, im good (on paper at least) for another year...
