It is a fun piece, how long before someone gets upset none of the pictures show these fellas wearing helmets?

...I couldn't help myself from stopping a young boy on a customised 26 inch rear, 24 inch front, extended forks, banana seated, ape hangered push bike a few days ago, to give him the thumbs up...it was his dads bike and now it was his...he had a big bemused smile when he rode off...

Yep, remember that well, helmets and safety clothing was a luxury option back in the 60's
Just jeans and a tee shirt were pretty much the norm with an old leather jacket on long rides.
Somehow I survived those time without any battlescars.

    Remember these?

...even an old leather jacket was luxury...a cut off denim jacket over a 'windbreaker', was as close as it got...I still carry a couple of the battlescars that something better than a pair of jeans may have prevented...didn't even occur as a fleeting thought that there was a better way...

I met a few of these guys while out for a ride once...

Bloody awesome.... More awesome in real life...

I had a 5T with 12" overs early / mid 70's but hated the way it didn't handle so went the bobber route... As others have intimated I spent money on paint so there was nothing left for flash shit like leather...

    Sid on two wheels
I got into an embarrassing situation at my boss's birthday party once when he caught me upstairs having sex with his teenage daughter. "Well, this is awkward," I said. "Like one of those saucy movies starring Sid James."

    He said, "Carry On?"

I said, "Thank you very much."
