We are nearly finished ironing out the kinks for the process of RemoteMoto Riders submitting routes to RemoteMoto and it is starting to produce some very exciting results. The top of the South Island is filling up fast due to three active riders out logging (JimmyPatch is storming ahead!) and our very own Jatz has a flash new GPS toy allowing him to log his shenanigans and share his routes with us!
You can see the latest route additions here:

Huge apologies to the North Islanders for the delay in the North Island routes, sooooo much coding, testing, coding testing..........
But the news is all good as we are close, so Very very close to hitting the North Island full throttle!

The BIG announcement for North Islanders!!!
Some of you may not know I was born and raised in the North Island, Waikune, National Park to be precise. I’ve always had a soft spot for the North Island and in some ways it has been strange that RemoteMoto has started in the South Island rather than the North Island. The plan has always been to cover the North Island in the same detailed way the South Island is covered. Well, after many, many development delays and release date extensions I am happy to say that RemoteMoto is officially ready to launch in the North Island!!
The great news is, all the website development is complete and ready to support North Island route uploads by both me and by riders who want to contribute.I’m looking forward to logging routes myself on my upcoming North Island trip where I plan to revisit my old hometown in Waikune (what’s left of it), see if an old bridge my Grandfather built yeeeears ago still exists, catch up with old friends, family and most importantly catch up with some of the North Island riders for a ride, coffee, beer, chinwag and the like.
From next week on I’ll be touching base with the North Island riders that have already expressed interest in playing part in contributing to RemoteMoto in the North Island and I can’t tell you how excited I am to catch up and get things rolling!!

Hi guys, absolutely, the goal for this trip is to take my time and make it quite a social trip. I'm looking forward to catching up with as many North Island riders as possible along the way. It'll be great to finally put a face to a screen name![]()

The cost to produce the adventure screens I ride with (that suit the DR650, DRZ400, DRZ250) is very high based on the fact they are made up of quite a few components and they are entirely hand produced. With a new design approach, it may be possible to produce them at a realistic price range. I’ll update on the progress as info comes to hand…

The process of exploring options and seeking input from specialists to increase DRZ400 big end life is nearing completion. You can read the progress here:

what is the typical load you put on your DRZ to cause it to run so many engines? (your weight + your panniers and junk?)
Excellent report Josh ...very well written and will be following with interest...great to see the oil guys stepping up to help...
