Standard thing if quoting multiple sources is to copy and paste the desired bits and use the "Wrap [ QUOTE] tags arround selected text" tool (speech ballon icon) then put "=username" inside the [ QUOTE] at the beginning.

At least, that's what I do as I've not found a simpler method of quoting multiple people.

I also add tags ([B] or [color=]) in quoted text to highlight things.

Never occured to me to make up shit, though. Guess I'm too nice. Is there an "Innocent Nice Guy" Flame Warrior category?

Shit, must give it a go:

Of course it doesn't have to. The tags simply tell the program how to interpret the text, just like html for browsers.

    No checking is done.

Regards this thread... is it only people with no life (ie. techy geeks) that already knew this??

Like I was watching 60 minutes and that spy program was on. A girlfriend got the boyfriend to install it on his PC by sending it in an email... I would never ever just blindly install software...

ummm from that fairly extensive description I'm a thinking that perhaps you are not one...

Membership is fairly exclusive after all, and it takes years of dedication and self-reflection to gain geek status.

Copy, paste, type [QUOTE and closing square bracket at begining and \QUOTE ditto at end.

Does 24 years - including everything from programming through network admin, cabling, hardware repairs/maintenance and Hell Desk and spanning PC-DOS and CP/M to Windows XP - count?

And if you read esr's brilliant "Portrait of J Random Hacker" you'll see that mainstream geeks are reknowned for having an extensive variety of "other interests" - they're just living lives that do not revolve around "stuffing your face with Frittos or Twinkies and slurping beer whilst watching ('merkin) football on pay-per-view and jerking off over the cheerleaders" so they don't count as "real lives"

Get enough typing when I program, I'm lazy enough to select the text and hit "Wrap in quote codes" when I can - I did say "simpler method"

To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
