    Trail ride options near Auckland?

This weekend there are two options for trail rides in the greater Auckland area. Scott's Farm in the Rodney area, or the Mangatangi School ride at Monument Rd Maramarua. Does anyone know which one is 'easier / cruiser'. Not really into anything too challenging. Thanks

Thanks for pointing this out, I'm there. Mangatangi is a cool ride in the dry, but if it's been raining it can get a wee bit slippery. Scott's farm is the easier ride of the two.

When it turns to crap it really turns to crap eh?

I was going to say Mangatangi was an easy but enjoyable farm ride but it was dry when I was there (last year?), never been to Scots farm but the Rodney rides are usually enjoyable.

So that's the Spectro ride at Scott's farm postponed until next weekend, The Counties Honda ride at Mangatangi will be fun in this weather but not with the 1000 riders they often get there But maybe not so many in this weather, Also what is it with Counties Honda rides starting at 10.30 after a mass briefing and then every single rider heading off at the same time, it's freaking carnage.
So was planning on heading to Matatoki near kopu , any one had any experience of this ride ?

Did the Mangatangi ride with Counties Honda yesterday. Was probably only around 400 at most. think the weather scared them off but was dry all day. track was easily doable, some slippery stuff for the first loop but dried and/or got ripped off and subsequent loops were fine. Well signed, good marshaling and the lamb on the spit was excellent.

I also did the Matangi ride yesterday was mint!
First lap was fucken slippery, but once the wind dried it out for the 2nd lap it was choice, so much grip on the tacky clay.

It was fairly dusty in 2010, got heat stroke. 2011 was fairly dry too. Can't remember 2012. Last year was wet.

Cheers for that footage, looks like a great ride. If this rain keeps up should be extra fun. You going on Sunday?

Sweet, a few years back when my girl was 9 we rode KX125/KX60, was a nice combo. Now she's 16 all that's changed!
