Varies from 48 mpg riding 110 to 120 kph to 46 mpg at 125+ kph
i got 2ookm's from 12 litres, that's from twisty west coast roads.
my tank is 11l, and I think that the main is 9 and reserve 2.
I usually do 200km before needing to dig into the reserve.
Recently I've experienced more fuel consumption, but I can't say if it's due to me revving more confortably in the 8000-14000 range or to a little problem I've had with the fuel hoses :-)
I got 18 Kilometres per litre on the trip south to Christchurch.
Only 16 kpl on the return leg but I guess that's 'cause it's uphill.
Either that or the bloody NorWester...
Went on a *really* slow group ride last Sunday, was getting a bit frustrated but consoled myself that it would at least be economic. Got 20.6 kpl I think that's about the record.
Considering the tank holds 19l that gives a reasonable range. It's nice to know these things.

My 1990 ZXR 250 shocking.
I'm get about 10Km/L on 96 sometime 12Km/l depending on riding.
A turbo skyline gets that? Jeez, do you ever use the pedal on the right?Originally Posted by vfrboy

If you want to go broke fast, buy a modded turbo lancer. It used to scrape 300km outta 45 litres of 98 - 6.6km/litre or 15l/100km. But ask Loosebruce how much fun I had per kilometre![]()

Yeah it gets used quite hard, but is tuned properly, makes a huge difference
I get around 230kms from my 15L tank on the VN800 depending on how i ride her.

Around 9-10k's per ltr on the road
about 5k per ltr on the track.
For the GS1200SS, I get around 18 - 19 km/l solo and 16 - 17 km/l with a pillion. Either way I plan on 280 - 310 km between fills.
On the RE5 its only 11 km/l for hard riding and 10 km/l if I take it easy. Either way I'm looking for a fuel stop at 140 - 160 km.
Time to ride

I notice most of the bigger bikes seem to do better for fuel economy, possibly because they arent working as hard to keep up a constant 100kms.
My old gixxer 400rr used to be a shocker, its was 140km on main tank and 40km on RES the zx9r managed 230kms out of 12litres.
as for the turbo'ed modded lancer, i have a wrx sti type R and that can suck the gas like no other, when running 20psi you have to watch the fuel guage as well as rpm counter, they both move nearly the same time, currently building a 2.2 stroker for it, should be 250kw at the wheels on a good tune :P with not a hint of fuel economy in sight.

Have you taken your bike over any sweet jumps?
23k/l (65mpg) over 1350K on last trip. 400k gravel the rest black top.
... you know it's a bit windy when you get passed by your own dust ...
