    CBTA recommendations Auckland

I guess most of yoos fellas have had your licence for a while, but for those that obtained theirs more recently via the cbta route. Could anyone give me some impartial recommendations or reviews on places in Auckland to do it? I don't mind traveling a bit (never a bad reason to ride a bit further is there) so anywhere in or around Auckland is perfectly sweet with me.

I read recently that the highest risk demographic on bikes are the "returning riders" !? My first thought upon reading this was, pfft!

But then realised that my Pfft reaction is probably the exact attitude that leads to someone like me heading towards being another addition to that very statistic. So with that in mind, I intend to swallow my humble pie and get on at least one of these acc subsidised training days too.

So if anyone has a review or recommendation regarding those training sessions too, I'd really like to hear.

I'm always gonna have a touch of the old pizza delivery / bike courier hoon in me, but hopefully I can keep that hoon alive a bit longer....

    Thanks

If you don't mind travelling to Massey, Philip McDaid of RiderSkills is very good indeed. He runs everything from CBTA through to Advanced Roadcraft and many people on this site have used him for tuition at all levels - never heard a bad word about him. He also puts back a huge amount of voluntary time into helping riders upskill and is the Chief Examiner (motorcycles) for the Institute of Advanced Motorists. Worth supporting someone like this. His website: http://www.riderskills.co.nz/. Forget costs - go where you'll get great instruction and there are some good people around.

    Awesome, thanks for the feedback.

I'll book my training day now and my restricted to follow. Can't believe I'm going through all this again and feeling just as nervous and excited as when I was 17, all those years ago......hahaha

    Thanks again
