Every junction I approach on my bike (to turn right usually is the most common time), doesn't go green for me unless there's a car behind me or I have to wait around 3/4 phases (maybe more, but I haven't waited any longer than that) before the lights decide to let me go. I guess it's due to so many of the local lights having pressure sensors embedded in the roads?! But damn it's annoying!
My question is, am I the only one so sick of waiting that I no longer do?
As soon as I know I'm at one of these damn car biased junctions, I wait for a safe opportunity and just gun it through the red arrow. I suspect I'll get a ticket eventually, but are we expected to just wait around all night for a car to pull up behind us, before being given legal allowance to proceed? (But obviously not me of course, as I would never ride my bike outside my learner licence conditions! I mean after 10pm??? when the roads are half empty??? That would be far too DANGEROUS for heavens sake)
