To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

I had a BSA - Martini-action heavy-barrelled .22 target rifle with diopter sights. Never rode it on the open road, though.

And Yamaha doesn't just make motorcycles. They make damned fine hi-fi kit, and a better-than-average piano. Hence the logo.

    Triple tuning forks.

I have about three Yamaha recorders - the "standard" recorder in most schools. Not concert quality, but certainly good quality.

Crossed tuning forks, the original bikes only had the logo and no name on them

And Suzuki started out making Looms (weaving)
That is why you often see Suzukis looming menacingly in your rear view mirrors
