As you probably know, outside of here I run a biking website. So I get people contact me from time to time wanting to promote a product, or ask for a reciprocal link.

So I look in my 'business' inbox and find someone wants to share a link with me. So I take a look at this other website and find...

... it teaches people how to pick locks!

Did this idiot really think I was going to link to a lockpicking site? FFS, one of our biggest problems is scum stealing our bikes - and he thought I'd like to help him teach people how to pick our locks?

Wanker.

The email went in the trash can unanswered... though I was tempted to fire off a salvo of abuse at him for showing people this (oh yeah, he puts a little disclaimer on his site, saying that "Of course there are people that use these skills for evil purposes... and then some crap about how guns can be used to hunt for food or kill - yup, wanker is the right word that springs to mind!)

Anyone else ever get contacted by someone with a really inappropriate offer?

Apart from the Nigerian scams and the cheap Viagra (yeah, like I need that!), I got one the other day asking me to vote for the Green Party!

And despite the fact that I have a website advertising my own services, I often get people wanting me to write something for them 'on spec' for no payment! Sorry, but I've been making a living out of writing and photography for many years and I don't do work for free. You hire me, I do the job, you pay me, and if you don't like my work, you don't use me again. Can you imagine asking a plumber to do a job for you so you could check out his work?
