But that goes for any job and there are plenty of other people in jobs they don't like or weren't what they were promised but don't treat it as an excuse to treat joe public rudely.
Police need to look at who they are hiring instead of grabbing every retired sportstar or club rugby player, there's too much emphasis on team players. What they really need is semi pyscotic people who've already experienced a breakdown of some sort who wont crack under pressure.
There's been a culture shift as the police have gradually become militarized that everyone not in a blue uniform is potential enemy.
Used to be always a smile and chit chat at checkpoints and they would even wave the trucks straight through without stopping.
Now its the thousand yard stare of a shell shocked vet ordering you to say name and address instead of hows your day going?
