    Back on two wheels

Not long regesterd and thought I would introduce myself and say Hi

Well I'm back on two wheels after 20 years, all started a couple of weeks ago when a mate dropped off a helmet I lent him for a demo darby, got me thinking and after a look on Trademe secured myself a 89 VS700 Intruder. Old girl but still very tidy always garaged and serviced with only 36k km on the clock.

When I was 16 my first bike was a brand spanking new Suzuki AX100 then a CB250 and after that a two stroke twins RZ's, TZR's etc. Last one was a RZ350 and that was 20 years ago.

One thing I never did was get my full bike license so thought well better sort that since I now have a 700, went down to enquire about what was required Friday and found myself book in for this afternoon (crap wasn't expecting that) well after a nervous morning went of to do the ride.
They give you a Yamaha 225 to ride, I did tell the instructor i hadn't ridden in many years but she was cool and said you will be fine, well off we went and after about 10 min was realy starting to enjoy the ride. Got back to the staring point was expecting her to say you need more practice but no she said sweet as well done. Wow cool great little ride and now got my full to boot.
I now understand the saying "just like rideing a bike" felt so good to be on two wheels again

Need to sort a Leather jacket, boots saddle bags etc and to find the time to get on the Intruder and go riding.

    Cheers for listening guys

Welcome back to riding I-VS, enjoy it eh. One pointer bud, book ya self onto one of the advanced rider courses eh. They will teach you a wide range of techniques in bike handling and hazard awareness/management. Really good for bringing ya skill set up and avoid you from becoming one of the 'born again biker' statistics. Ya local bike shop should have details of how to contact them

I done one of these courses with a mate as support and learnt heaps, has helped saved my backside on a number of occasions with skills learnt.

    Take care eh
