This thread it still going? lol didn't realise until crashe pointed it out to me...

Firstly... Thanks again for the help installing the alarm... so far it's working perfectly (cept for talking and remote start).

I don't mind it not talking (I think that option would just piss me off more than anything lol)... the remote start would be kewl though...

*is just happy with my chirping motorbike lol*

I don't mind popping round some time again Bugjuice for you to check it out again... but it won't be for about 2 weeks

Fully booked this weekend, work all week next week (7.30am to 8pm Mon - Fri & 8am to 3-4pm Sat), then a birthday bash for mates on next Saturday (15th) so the soonest I'd be free would be Sunday the 16th lol

And that of course would depend on if your free at that stage...

Also... if you wouldn't mind (lol here it comes)

If you wouldn't mind the challenge... I got Sam an alarm for her FXR, same make (Cyclon) but different model (the one you installed on my bike is a C-9... the one I got for Sam is a C-11... it even has a flashing LED light lol)

Anywho... back to work I go *ho hum*
I'm not a complete idiot... some pieces are missing

I did say that its strange to have two earth wires...
But that was the first time I had seen an alarm being installed.

The short black wire is earthed to where it should go...
He just needs to know unscrew the other long black wire and lay it out flat..

and none of us had your phone number on the day either.
I'll tell ya what I did - I put the black wire that is the ground wire (in the diagram, it's the wire that's next to the siren), to a ground point. I put the antenna in the tail fairing away from interference of the rest of the bike. I didn't cut it, I didn't screw it, I didn't curl it up. I threaded it carefully thru some cable ties in it's length.. The antenna comes out of the brain, not the wiring loom

Heheheh i think Crashe is just making trouble BJ.....

Sounds like all you need to do is plug the bullet connectors at the alarm end together, so that the red bullet goes to the black one and then the remote start will magically work

If not or if any other probs I absolutely don't mind helping - you just have to make the trip out Botany way!

My phone number is available under my profile to senior members - Buggy can access it and should feel free to.

thanx Allun.. I'll try connecting the bullet plugs and see what happens (or you can try it PF)..

As for catching up, PF, to have another look, I don't mind at all. The next couple of weeks I'm quite busy too. But the third weekend I might be busy too, helping MR at the race track. But I'll know nearer the time and we can go from there.
And I don't mind installing Sam's alarm too. But I thought you were looking to sell Sam's FXR and get another..?

    Sweet thanks

Yeah we were planning on selling her bike, but then the finance co. messed us around and we missed out on the ZXR we were looking at... and so we've decided to wait until Feb/March next year before upgrading her bike (Unless we find the right one by pure chance lol... temptation is an evil thing )

So for the time being we're going to hang onto the FXR
