Arrow How many K's have I got left?

Hi maybe someone can give me a clue?
My firestorm usually switches on the red light after about 160k's which is about 3 days worth of trekking to work. I thought strangely this morning that I'd done a few over the top with no red light, so I was pretty pleased.

I switched on the trip just after becoming a tad concerned to discover that I've now done 180 on the tank, still no red light... Great!! or BUGGER!!

After tinkering with the wires at the lights just before my work stop, the lovely RLOD comes blinking on and off with the indicators Yay!! NOT!

So, my question is, does anyone who's had a firestorm know whether I need to buy a can and fill it up, or whether iv'e got a few K's left to get to the gas station?

Check your reserve switch..... you may not have switched it back when you last filled up the tank.

Ummmm sometimes I get 200km with my bike, sometimes I get 220 km's around town... once I got less than 200km.... I guess it depends on whether you hoon it occassionally...
But on most occassions I get 210km.... but play it in my head when I get to 200km to watch the fuel.... to refuel up.

Well, I've had a couple of blasts on it this week but I've never got less than 160 before the light. I only came to work this morning- gently in the rain, so I've basically done about 20k on 'reserve' at normal riding.

I know these VTR's are not the greatest on fuel but should I get more than say 20k on the red light?

Yeah as SpeedMedic mentions.. ya get bout 30-40ks off the reserve.. which is normally 3L's (well it is for my 17L tank.. - 3L for reserve with flashing light!)

    =)

Early firestorms have about 1.5 litres left when the light comes on, that'll get you about 20 - 25kms.

If you've done 20kms so far i wouldnt be keen to push it much further, mine has only made 190 once before the light came on.

No reverse switch, how strange. But it comes with a petrol gauge that's accurate to more than 1/4 tank like mine - yes mine has a reserve switch too.
90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.
