The '05 is a completely different bike from the ground up. I understand what you are saying about the experience and "opinion" of the bike testers, but being a stinky skunk you're refusing to pay attention to my point. The rest of us mortals wouldn't know the difference. It steers better and with better feel than my previous three bikes.

Nothing wrong with any of them. Some people might like the feel of the 70 over the 60 or 65 on any bike. I got the feeling SuziQ didn't like the twitchy feeling so maybe it 70 might be better for her.

I'm sure the R6 is fine, SuzyQ, just very different from your GSX750F, you'll get use to it, they are very responsive and sharp steering and handling. Actually pretty close to a GP bike for the road (a 250GP bike). It will tip in and drop into a corner quicker than you would be use to, but thats whats its designed to do.

SuzyQ's R6 felt very heavy in the steering for a start, the damping on the forks was set on soft and the tire pressures were down , so I increased both and it felt alot better. I thought I would get Dangerous's opinion. He seemed to like it.

What cracks me up about these journalists, is they're apparently so well qualified to speak of a good and bad handling bike, tyre sizes, suspension settings etc etc. The majority of them are chooks. (And I'm happy for any to prove me wrong, just lend me a bike and meet me at the track)

I will be taking the R6 out tomorrow for my first decent ride after the "tweaking" done by DD and 30UTD. I took it to work today, but of course round town couldn't really tell what had changed, but then again I just ride I don't anylise! Hanmer here we come! In fact this ride will be the 3rd decent ride on the bike, it gets better all the time but still getting used to it. yes it is very different from the 750f but that is what I wanted - get out of the comfort zone! Will check in after the ride. :spudflip:

Had a great ride to Hanmer today - in the group we had 3 Yamaha's - Me on the R6, Richard on the Tmax 500cc scooter and an XV750 bored out to a Thousand, 30UTD on the K4 1000 and Steve on his CBR1000. Great weather and the bike felt great, all the tweaking made a difference and all is well. It is a wee bit demoralising when the scooter passes - and he is 2 up - but at least i wasn't the only one he passed - little shit!
I have to my my wrists were feeling it - different riding position than the old bike, so I will have to work on them to strengthen them up, also kept losing 30UTD!!! We took the long way home via Waikari, Scargill and Greta Valley and then turned off at Amberley to go the back way to Rangiora. The XV750 nearly ran out of petrol and had to use reserve on the way to hanmer so it stands to reason he would have to fill up at some stage on the way home, so he stopped at the first station after turning off at Amberley so i stopped to change gloves and Manuboy - who joined us in Waikari - and 30UTD carried on oblivious and didn't realise we weren't behind them untill Rangiora, they waited a wee while but not long enough. When I got home I had a message from 30UTD who thought I must have turned off at Sefton - why??? and he was at Dangerous's dropping off Manuboys bike. Ah well I got to ride at my own pace and the weather was nice!!! the R6 handled well and I am very pleased with her.
