    Wellington dirt bike trails

Where can I find an easy ride while I get the hang of being on a dirt bike again?

I'm also looking for info for the Wellington region having just bought a 140 pit bike...

If it's a small one, the dust bowl in Wainui is good fun - I've been told the firebreaks & other tracks around Wainui are great, but they all say no motorbikes, so...

I've seen bikes on trails down the end of Coast Road out the back of Wainui, or you can do Red Rocks (down by Owhiro Bay) on Saturdays - no motorbikes allowed on Sundays.

Karapoti is the legal place if you phone council for a permit but its a shit place to ride and too many heroes coming the other way on tight trails.

Jump in and do an organised ride. Check silver bullet website but give the club a ring to check it isn't too gnarly.

That's a brilliant website, how complete would you say it is? Looks pretty sparse and seems to be missing Red Rocks among others...

My first experiences on a dirt bike were around the hills between Whitemans Valley and Wainuiomata.

Long gully is an extreme MX track. Maybe on the roads but . . .

Long gully has some great tracks that head down to the south coast. The farm goes from the wind turbine all the way down to the south coast shore.
