Regarding the results, Jay Lawrence was riding a 1980 GSX1100, not a GSXR as reported in a mixed pre 82 & pre 89 class. He cleared off into a lonely lead & I understand he also broke the lap record for class in the process.

It was also reported john blaymires broke it in classic sidecars, i must check that as i was commentating and looking real hard for the magic sub minute, which bryan stenet and tracey bryan got last year, but never saw it.
the classic and the sidecar lap records in this years program were incorrect so that may be where the confusion came from?

according to my laps the stents still hold the lap record.

PMSL that Mr Terry Stevenson reported that Gary Macefield/Darren Prentis got 5th in the F1 sidecars on a Matchless. (we haven't been able to combine Classic Sidecars with the moderns for a few years now) Correction; They got a 5th in the F1 sidecars on a Yamaha R1 trellis chassis Longbike. However Darren was swinging for me on the Matchless in the Classic sidecars and we did get 5th in the first race. Don't believe all you read
