    Rimutaka Hill Road - Video

Mrs S & I decided that lunch in Martinborough was the order of the day. This gave me the perfect opportunity to test out the new cam set-up on the bike.

This is a short clip heading up the Rimutaka Hill Road (heading north), for those of you that know the road you should recognise this section as the first part of the actual hill road (ie. just after Kaitoke Country Gardens).

The new cam-mount seems to have worked quite well but the sound isn't great so I've put a song clip over the top, this also helps to disguise the false neutral I hit.

Anyway, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

    Awesome, really like it
Some days it's not even worth chewing through the restraints.

What I could hear sounded pretty good (the bike sounds behind the music I mean); as for the video - brilliant!

Well done Slingshot. Damn you for that music though
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

I've got sixty minutes worth of footage from today. Problem is the file size would get kinda big.
If the weather is good this weekend I'll do some more, hopefully following another bike.

Here's a pic of the mount. I've had a bracket made up that mounts to the frame and the plan was to mount the camera directly to that (without the box). I tried it but there was way too much vibration and the heads on the camera kept jumping.
So I got some perspex for $5 and had a go at making a box, perspex is actually really easy to work with.
Now that the proof of concept has worked I might build a new box, next time I'll try and get it square and maybe a little smaller.
