FB suggested this group, so being curious I joined. Anyone else belong? Comments?

Tell the face book group that there is at least one KB member who will never go on fuck book, so perhaps they could consdier putting a rides/events page here on KB.

Other than the endless spam adds, data harvesting, so called quiz's trawling for your possible passwords the really stupid comments and endless photos of bikes parked whats not to like?
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

Group rides with people you don't know have to be the least safe rides possible. Ironic handle.

There's bound to be some KB members in facebook groups. My guess is they're the same people in every group, because most people join up with all the groups they can. Heaps of cross-overs between each group eh?

I hear what you're saying, but that hasn't been my experience. I've always known at least one person in the new group though.

What you don't want is to ride with a large group. Those have been my scariest moments by far.

The problem I have with most of these "group rides" is that they generally made up of cocky, dick waving, testosterone fulled idiots, who ride early to late 90s thrashed Japo sport bikes.

I was considering joining Ulysses just so I'd have some people to ride with. I agree I'd prefer to ride with people I already know....but I know so few with bikes in my area.

Any feedback? Are they another bunch of madmen riding thrashed sportsbikes unsafely in groups making us look bad, or a reasonable bunch of hirsute gentlemen that love to ride?

I know quite a few of the Ulysses North Shore members who are also IAM Roadcraft-qualified riders so they set good standards and are really welcoming people. From personal experience, I think it very much depends on each group.
