Who does suspension tuning in Auckland?

Yes I know it's be asked before and I have done a search but Fastbikegear aren't doing it any more and my email to apinz@slingshot.co.nz bounced as unknown address. I have purchased rear shocks, new front springs, ricor intimators and RSD preload adjusters and want some professional help to install and get the sag/preload etc. done correctly. Yes I know I could piss around with it myself to try and get it right but I don't really have the gear to do it (no lft, vice etc.), the expertise to do it comfortably or the time to f^&k around until I get it right (I'd rather pay a pro to do it and be present so it's setup for me). I also need to find a source for Amsoil Shock Therapy # 10 oil. Any suggestions/recommendations?

    Thanks

I understand that Restorace at Westgate are pretty good - did a rebuild on a track bike for a mate. Www.restorace.co.nz. They're next door to Riderskills rider training in an industrial unit just off Westgate drive.

Amsoil has a good reputation but their presence in NZ seems less than comprehensive. Amsoil NZ Ltd is in New Lynn, if they haven't got the particular grade you want they may be able to get it. On the other hand they may want you to buy 50 gallons?

    Good luck with your quests.

Their motorcycle lifts might not be rated to handle the weight of a small car. They mightn't have a full set of imperial tools.

Some are air suspension actually... Might explain why they can't go around corners

Zamian, I know you asked for Auckland, but in terms of knowledge of suspension, you may want to widen your field. See if Robert Taylor in New Plymouth would work on it. In terms of suspension, he has all the tools including shock dyno etc. I doubt you'd find many with more knowledge in NZ

did you get to see the shock dyno?, my mate had his suspension done on his airhead racer BMW and never saw it
got a bit of bouncing up and down on the forks and shocks though.

The Ohlins for a BMW are the S36 emulsion type which are for Harleys, seem to be a popular upgrade in the US.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

If you're ordering the standard Ohlins offering for a particular bike Robert would set that shock for your height, weight, and riding style. Doubt he needs a shock dyno for that.

    Then again I'm totally guessing...

It'd pay to give him a ring, I'm not sure how he'd respond to someone turning up with a lot of stuff they'd bought from somewhere else but there's only one way to find out.

I doubt he would have a problem with it but he may tell you some truth about what you have bought. All his advice to me has been bang on.
