Yep, possibly, and it can also be a reason that the person just don't wanna sell it or give it away, rather keep it scenario...

The tow rating on these is only 1.3t - which is why I sold mine. - (the new caravan is 1.8t.) Seems like a reas. price for what you're selling - slightly on the higher side, but still a reasonable starting point - a stripped out work van would be rather less. I got $2.5k for a 99 2.8 diesel with 325k km.

One week isn't going to test the market potential. Time of year everyone is feeling broke.
Don't you look at my accountant.

    Thanks for that.
I guess I only wanted to tow a trailer at most. 3 litre turbo motor. The rating must have something to do with the chassis? I thought it was the towbar and how it was mounted with what that dictated rating etc.
Hey, I don't know much so enlighten me please.

And thirdly, apparently, ones that are are driven with loads on or up hills at low revs leaving the turbo to do the work and heat the heat. Need to keep the revs up so the engine is not just relying on boost.

    $1 reserve.
If you're stupid. The vast majority of bidders aren't buyers for 90% of the bidding.

It will generate more interest as they say in real estate. From people who aren't in the price bracket you're aiming for.
You don't need lots of buyers. Just one. Also people find it hard to bid when the price gets higher as they've seen the bidding at rock bottom and now it seem expensive. Maybe something is wrong with it.
And it time pressures the right buyer being there at the right time chance.

Finally an auction only gets the second best price. Plus a dollar. Think about it.

It hasn't been on auction, this is a classified here? Are you generalising? And, no, there is nothing wrong with it...

$1R is fine if you're in a main center. If not it carries more risk and can leave you out of pocket.

Good luck with moving it on.

I'm just saying the suggestion to $1 it would be foolhardy. Do that with crap you find if you don't want a trip to the tip.

This $1 reserve lark can sometimes be very corrupt!
Shill bidding can be rife on the sites...
Give your mate a call and hike the price because it is getting close to the end and nobody had bid or it has reached reserve and we need more.....

No risk - just pull the auction if it does not reach what you want ........ yeah OK that's against the rules but done often enough if you watch them. I pulled one auction years ago as a family member turned up saw what I was selling and named a price to take away there and then - suited me. TM when pulling had a handful of tick boxes to answer as to 'why' - I got the impression that if you do it a few times they will catch you out.

Not recommended you understand - best to set up a separate account at work and bid it up like that car yard in CHCH did a couple years back. All good until they got done. Served them tight too.

I agree advertising it as a brilliant camper conversion. If you are lucky young blonde Swedish twins will turn up to inspect it.
